About the Opportunity

You'll play a key role in delivering complex software capabilities across an enterprise Defence environment, leading engineering activities from solution design through to system integration, testing, and deployment.
n
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll help deliver innovative software solutions that support critical operational outcomes while mentoring engineers and driving engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities
n
As the Software Engineer, you will:
n
n
Lead the design, development, and integration of software solutions across complex ICT environments.
n
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior software engineers.
n
Develop high-quality software aligned with architectural standards and system requirements.
n




Support software integration across infrastructure, networking, and enterprise platforms.
n
Lead verification, validation, testing, and defect resolution activities.
n
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
n
Produce technical documentation and support transition into operational environments.
n
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
n

What We're Looking For
n
n
Strong software engineering experience within complex enterprise ICT environments.
n
Expertise in Java, Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
n
Experience leading development teams or mentoring engineers.
n
Strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle.
n
Experience with systems integration, verification, and validation.
n
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
n
Robust communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n

Highly Regarded
n
n
Defence or National Security programs.
n
Geospatial or distributed software systems.
n
DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, or containerised environments.
n
Secure or highly regulated ICT environments.
