We are seeking a Clinical Coding Manager to lead and transform the Clinical Coding function across Nexus Hospitals.

About the Role:
The role requires an experienced Clinical Coding/HIM Manager to transform the clinical coding service and ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant coding.
This role supports strategic and operational goals through quality improvement, workforce capability development, and interprofessional collaboration.
The Role will encompass but is not limited to:
Lead the Clinical Coding function to ensure accurate and timely clinical coding across all Nexus facilities
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
Manage staffing, performance, and training of the coding workforce
Design and deliver targeted educational programs to strengthen workforce capability for both the coding and billing teams
Promote continuous improvement through feedback, coaching, and professional development
Ensure coding practices comply with Australian Coding Standards, AR-DRG rules, and privacy legislation (Privacy Act ****)
Conduct audits and benchmarking to improve coding accuracy and data quality
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Alignment
Collaborating with and contributing to the wider Nexus Hospitals community
About you:
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or equivalent Clinical Coding qualification
Minimum 5 years of experience in Clinical Coding with a strong knowledge of Australian Coding Standards
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and ability to work within a team environment and inspire others
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
Comprehensive understanding of privacy and medico-legal legislation
Experience with 3M/Solventum Codefinder software
Familiarity with hospital reimbursement systems and health fund contracting
An analytical thinker with strong time management, technical proficiency and attention to detail
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
