Location: Australia (Hybrid work setting) Preference to candidates located in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth

About the Role
We are seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Architect to join our Consulting team.
In this role, you'll partner with clients to deeply understand their finance and business processes, translating requirements into best-practice Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain (FSCM) solutions.
You will serve as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through implementations, business process reviews, and ongoing optimisation of their Microsoft investments.
With a strong finance background, you'll ensure solutions are both strategically aligned and practically effective.
Key Responsibilities
Lead client workshops with Finance stakeholders to capture and document requirements.
Translate business needs into functional designs and solution blueprints.
Configure and validate D365 Finance & Supply Chain modules; support testing, training, and cutover.
Partner with Technical Architects and Integration leads to ensure smooth end-to-end data flows.
Provide functional leadership across multi-phase ERP programs, managing risks and dependencies.
Develop documentation (FRDs, BPMLs, test scripts) and deliver training/user adoption programs.
Contribute to pre-sales activities including solutioning, scoping, estimation, and demos.
Support a seamless transition to Managed Services teams post go-live.
What We're Looking For
Deep understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP, statutory reporting, taxation).
Strong expertise across D365 Finance modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, Budgeting, Consolidations, Project Accounting).
5+ years' experience in finance systems administration or accounting/finance operations.
4+ years' experience with Microsoft ERP platforms (D365 Finance, AX, or equivalent).
Experience working with CFOs, Finance Managers, and senior stakeholders.
Knowledge of emerging Microsoft technologies (Power BI, Power Automate, Finance Insights, BPA).
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
CA/CPA qualification required; relevant Microsoft certifications highly regarded.
