We are seeking a School Counsellor interested in working at ournew Yr***** campus in Armadale for a full time or part timecapacity.

As a CaRE (Curriculum & Re-Engagement) School, we're focussed onworking with students at their point of need.
Through on-entryassessments, consultation and collaborative approaches, weformulate strong Individual Education Plans, providing classroomsupport to work towards future goals via a combination of programs.This includes Literacy, Numeracy, Direct Instruction, STEAM(focussing on a range of WA Curriculum subjects) and social &emotional; development sessions.
Our main focus is to assist students to re-engage with educationin a way that makes sense to them, dismantling the barriers andcreating a chance for them to flourish.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Principal, you'll play a key role in supportingthe wellbeing, safety and development of young people at theY School.
You'll provide culturally protected, trauma-informed andevidence-based counselling to students, working collaborativelywith young people, families, school staff and external services tohelp students achieve their goals and stay engaged ineducation.
Working on a case-by-case basis, you may provide individualcounselling, identify and respond to students' wellbeing and mentalhealth needs, complete risk assessments and safety plans whererequired, and connect young people with appropriate externalservices and supports.
You'll also work alongside the Youth WorkTeam, supporting students experiencing challenges with engagementand attendance, developing strategies to help them re-engage withschool and their broader community.
A key part of the role will be building strong, respectfulrelationships with students and families, while maintainingprofessional boundaries, confidentiality and accurate caserecords.
You'll work closely with teachers, youth workers andschool leadership to develop individualised support strategies andpromote a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for youngpeople.
You'll be great in this role if you...
Have relevant qualifications or experience in counselling,social work, behavioural or health sciences, with experiencesupporting young people.
Bring a trauma-informed, empathetic and non-judgementalapproach, with experience using evidence-based counsellingpractices.
Have experience supporting young people experiencingcomplex or challenging circumstances, including riskassessment, safety planning, referrals and follow-upsupport.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with youngpeople, families, school staff and external serviceproviders.
Have strong communication, organisation and professionaljudgement skills, with the ability to work independently andremain calm in challenging situations.
Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeingand safety of children and young people
Hold or can obtain a current WA Working with ChildrenCheck, National Police Clearance and WA 'C' Class Driver'sLicence.
You'll be earning $93,706 - $108,817per annum + 12%Salary Packaging + Benefits
