Senior Legal Counsel 7+PQE Front-End Construction

Our client is a Tier 1 contractor and developer powerhouse that handles complex projects internationally. With a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of projects, they are now looking to welcome an experience lawyer to join their established Legal team as a Senior Legal Counsel.

The Legal Team

n

This role will see you report into the General Counsel while working closely with a high calibre legal and commercial team.

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

Reviewing and advising on the terms of construction contracts at tender stage including D&C;, GC21 and ECI agreements.
n
Providing advice to tender team in relation to risk allocations, delays, EOT's, termination/suspension, security and retention regimes, scope and pricing.
n
Post tender negotiations with clients and sub-contractors.
n
Providing legal advice to stakeholders across construction and corporate.
n
Reviewing and advising on contracts across corporate - HR and IT.
n




Coordinate and oversee external legal counsel.
n
Advise on risk management by identifying legal risks in project development and construction phases.
n
Assist with regulatory compliance matters, including environmental and planning issues.
n
Providing proactive advice on legal and commercial issues and managing contractual risks to minimise disputes.
n

Ideal Candidate

n

n
For Legal Counsel 7 + years PQE with projects and construction experience.
n
Solid technical construction law skill set encompassing contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory work.
n
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-party transactions with a commercial and solutions-focused mindset.
n
A cooperative and proactive approach, thriving in a lean and high-performing team.
