Senior Product Design Engineer - Plumbing and Gas products / components

Are you a design engineer looking to join an Australian business where the whole R&D; and product design process is located here in Sydney.

The Role
Working with an exceptional design manager and for a business lead by engineers, your role will be to work in the R&D; / Product development team to develop and improve product offerings in the Plumbing, Gas product ranges.
You will work with the team to interpret new product requirements and deliver commercially viable solutions.
You will be given the freedom to experiment, present ideas, provide input to design meetings and work with test labs to ensure products meet compliance and functional issues.
You will be responsible for supplier relationship management and compliance functions locally.
Your will lead a small closely knit team in the Product Development teams and will be working for an exceptional manager.

Base pay range
A$100,******/yr - A$140,******/yr

Selection Criteria
Tertiary Qualifications – Mechanical Engineering degree
Solid experience in product specification and validation / compliance - essential
We are looking for people with between 3 years up to 20 years experience in a plumbing and gas product design Engineering position or manufacturing engineering
You have a good understanding of mechanical product design
Solidworks - intermediate level or above - CFD experience also well regarded
Previous experience in quality is highly regarded
Commercial aptitude - able to understand commercial concepts
You have previous experience managing and dealing with overseas suppliers
Experience in commercial negotiations
