Next Step Disability Service Mackay is looking for an organised, approachable and proactiveHR & Administration Officerto join our team.
This position has become available as our current HR team member transitions into another role within Next Step, creating an chance for someone new to step in and make the role their own.
We are a locally owned NDIS provider supporting people with disability throughout Mackay and surrounding areas.
You'll work closely with our Directors and leadership team in a hands‐on role covering HR, recruitment, compliance and general administration.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating recruitment, interviews, onboarding and staff inductions
Preparing employment contracts and maintaining employee records
Managing staff compliance, training records and documentation
Supporting performance management and employee lifecycle processes
Drafting HR correspondence, memos and internal communications
Monitoring relevant Fair Work and HR updates




Providing general office and administrative support to our leadership team
About you
You'll suit this role if you're someone who isorganised, confident with people and good at getting things done.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous HR, recruitment or administration experience
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confidence handling sensitive and confidential information
Good computer and systems skills
The ability to juggle competing priorities in a busy environment
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Experience within disability, community services or the NDIS is highly regarded, butnot essential.
