About this Opportunity
n
This position reports directly to the CEO and forms part of the Kalamunda Leadership Team.
n
This role will ensure that through contemporary management and the maximisation of available resources that the Infrastructure Directorate are administered strategically, effectively, and efficiently.
n
Beyond leading the Infrastructure Directorate, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of the entire organisation, working collaboratively across directorates to drive organisational performance, innovation and cultural excellence.
n
The portfolio is fascinating and diverse which includes planning and delivering capital works for large civil and construction projects, asset maintenance, parks and environmental management, waste and fleet management.

About You
n
We are looking for a strategic thinker with a background in delivering services to the community, preferably in a Local Government setting. You have the capability to shape and manage strategies, build productive relationships, demonstrate personal integrity and self-awareness, communicate and influence effectively and achieve results.
n
Essential knowledge/skills criteria
n
n
Extensive knowledge of Local Government functions and processes.
n
Understanding of legislative requirements that guide the City.
n
Knowledge in community engagement and consultation processes.
n
Knowledge of contemporary leadership practices and teamwork.
n
Skills in strategic thinking and planning.
n
High level skills in advanced report writing and policy development.
n
High level financial, contract and risk management skills and business acumen.
n
Knowledge of human resource management principles and practices.
n
Experience in managing a multidisciplinary portfolio focussed on delivering asset
n
services.
n
Understanding of asset management principles and practices.
n
Significant exposure to civil assets and parks & natural Areas typically managed by Local Governments.
n
Experience in overseeing the development of capital works programs.
n
Knowledge of project management techniques.
n
Knowledge of waste management practices and principles.
n
Understanding of political environments and how to adapt within such environments.
n
Ability to be creative, innovative, and agile.
n
Skills in building a culture that a positive and caring.
n
Ability to mentor staff at all levels in organisation.

Hours of Work
n
This is a full-time contract position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight with a requirement to work outside of normal business hours to meet the obligations of attending Council and other after-hours events.

Location

The role is located at the Operations Centre, 10 Raymond Road, Walliston with free parking, and close to local amenities.

This position offers a competitive salary of $238,000 per annum plus superannuation.
