About the Role
n
Our Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is designed to handle urgent non-life-threatening medical emergencies. With experienced staff and access to diagnostic facilities, it offers an efficient alternative to hospital emergency rooms, providing care for injuries, infections and other urgent health issues.
n
As a vital team member, the GP will be responsible for leading our clinical team in providing assessment and treatment of patients after they have been triaged. You will be supported by a team of Triage Nurses with emergency care skills to assist in clinical decision-making and patient management.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
n
n
Demonstrate a commitment towards excellence, best practice and improving performance delivery of high-quality urgent care to all patients.
n
Ensure compliance with all documentation requirements of the health service and relevant Government Departments.
n
Ensure clear communication to clinic staff and provide adequate information to ensure continuity of care.
n
Adhere to all aspects of confidentiality regarding patients, staff and personal documentation.
n
Actively support patients to make informed decisions about their treatment and ongoing care.
n
In collaboration with the Practice Manager and Clinical Director, identify opportunities to further strengthen sustainability of the medical services provided in the urgent care setting.
n
Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records to a high standard.
n
Contribute towards a positive culture within the UCC program and foster a multidisciplinary approach to client care.
n
Promote local and public health initiatives.
n
Maintain involvement and responsibility for Clinical Governance and Clinical handover as appropriate.
n
Actively monitor and improve the quality and safety of services.
n

What We Are Looking For
n
We are seeking someone who has:
n
n
MBBS.
n
Vocationally Registered.
n
Involvement in RACGP QA and CME.
n
Post Graduate experience as a General Practitioner in urgent care/emergency medicine or community health.
n
Proficiency in using EMR systems (ie. Best Practice).
n
Proven ability to improve clinical outcomes based on best practice medicine and evidence-based research.
n
Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance frameworks and applicability to primary health services.
n
Comprehensive understanding of Medicare requirements for General Practitioners.
n
Commitment towards Quality Improvement in all aspects of practice performance, including best health care outcomes/access and
availability/financial
targets.
n
FRACGP.
n
Understanding of RACGP General Practice Accreditation Guidelines.
n
Initiative in suggesting strategies to enhance greater efficiency throughout the clinic.
n
Ability to adopt a change management approach towards new initiatives.
n
High level communication skills (both verbal and written).
n
n
Checks, Licences & Registrations
n
n
Registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria.
n
CPR Certificate.
n
Basic and Advanced Life Support Training.
n
National Police Records Check.
n
Right to work in Australia.
n
Immunisation Category A.
n
Working with Children Check.
n
n
