On behalf of our client, we are looking for a full time experienced Diesel Mechanic. This role will be responsible for diagnostics and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure it is maintained to a fit for purpose standard for safe and reliable operation.

The daily duties and responsibilities include:
n
n
Plan tasks, parts acquisition and execute repairs, maintenance and servicing duties
n
Prioritise work in accordance with Maintenance Schedule
n
Fault diagnosis and general repairs
n
Ensure planned repairs are executed within time and cost requirements/estimates
n
Machine maintenance, component replacement and component overhaul
n
Carry out pre-start checks on plant and equipment to be operated
n
Re-fuelling and inspections
n
Basic cutting and welding, auto electrical tasks, hydraulic/ pneumatics and air conditioning diagnostics and repairs as required
n
Ensure all items are adequately secured in/on vehicles used for transportation
n
Strive for zero damage to plant and equipment
n
Follow OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) work instructions and procedures Ensure all components have been drained of oil where applicable to prevent environmental and/or compliance issues and follow appropriate procedure for disposal/dispatch
n
Identify prospects for continuous improvement and assist with the development and implementation of agreed solutions
n
Adherence to company Policies, Procedures and Management Plans
n
Work to the highest quality standard possible
n
Assist and support other team members in carrying out duties as required
n
Adherence to Site Safety Health Management System and Environmental and/or other statutory management plans as required
n
Commitment to fostering safety in the workplace
n
Report incidents as soon as possible, as a priority after the incident
n
Perform and submit regular Protected Act Observations (SAOs) using site supplied documentation and reporting process
n

Qualification & Experience Requirements
n
n
Trade Qualification – Diesel Fitting, Plant Mechanic or similar
n
Experience with heavy Mining & Earth Moving Equipment
n
Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
n
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
n
Planning and Organising skills
n
n
Salary
n
Salary being offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience and is between $100,000 – 130,000 excluding superannuation.
