Townsville's waterfront precinct is looking for someone to own its events program - and build it into something the north hasn't seen before.

About us

Flinders Street Wharves opened in late **** in the historic Burns Philp building on the Townsville waterfront. The precinct spans multiple bars, a beer garden, rooftop, kiosk, function spaces and live music, plus The Docks, our overwater Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar. Around 70 staff, two venues, and an events calendar that's only just getting started.

About the role
n
This is not only a coordinator role. You'll own the functions and events revenue line across the precinct - selling it, delivering it, and growing it. The role is a hybrid of sales, event management and creative programming:

Hunt and win corporate, community and private function business - outbound sales, networking, local partnerships
n
Manage events end to end: enquiry, proposal, contracting, delivery and post-event review
n
Create activations that draw a crowd - themed events, day clubs, live music programming, seasonal campaigns - and prove they worked with the numbers
n
Work alongside our Executive Chef on menus and costings,



and our Marketing Manager on promotion
n
Report directly to the General Manager with real accountability for revenue
n

About you
n
n
3+ years in event sales or event management within hospitality, venues, hotels or catering, with a revenue record you can point to
n
A salesperson's instincts: prospecting, proposals, negotiating, closing
n
Genuinely creative - you can show us events or activations you came up with, not just ran
n
Commercially sharp: budgets, margins, targets, conversion
n
Current QLD RSA; RMLV and marketing experience (campaigns, digital/social, content) desirable
n
Available for event days - this is hospitality, and you'll be where the action is
n

$100,000+ all-inclusive salary (negotiable for the right candidate) + 12% super
n
Performance bonus of up to 20% of salary, tied to revenue targets
