Located in Truganina VIC (Western Suburbs)

Day shift Monday - Friday 6:30am - 2:36pm

Pay rate of $*****ph (including casual loading)

Programmed are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established food manufacturing site based in Truganina. This is a long-term day shift opportunity working within a fast-paced, automated FMCG production environment.
n
This role will see you working as part of a skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of automated production lines. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime through effective fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Attend to breakdowns on automated production lines and restore equipment to optimal operation
n
Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), inspections, and servicing of mechanical equipment
n
Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and carry out timely repairs
n
Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement (bearings, gearboxes, valves, etc.)
n
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues to minimise production downtime
n
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues
n
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for accurate maintenance work
n
Use workshop tools and equipment, including TIG/MIG welding, grinders, and drills
n
Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports, and documentation
n




Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency
n
Ensure compliance with all safety, food hygiene, and quality standards (HACCP / GMP)
n

Skills & Experience
n
n
Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter within an FMCG or food manufacturing workplace
n
Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills on automated equipment and conveyor systems
n
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns efficiently under pressure
n
Experience working independently and managing workload effectively
n
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with production teams
n
Experience with CMMS systems (e.g. SAP, Mex)
n
Exposure to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
n

(D Licence) - highly regarded but not essential
n
