K E Brown Electrical Switchboards is seeking a Welder (First Class) for our workshop located in Warriewood, on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, near Mona Vale.

This is a day-time, Monday to Friday, permanent full-time position with opportunities for overtime and career development.

Your Duties Will Include:
n
n
Welding Tasks:n
n
Perform welding using various techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick,



and Flux-Cored Arc Welding
n
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
n
n
Preparation and Setup:n
n
Prepare and set up welding machines and equipment based on the specifications of the job
n
Ensure materials are correctly prepared for welding, including cutting, grinding, and fitting parts together
n
n
Quality Control:n
n
Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications
n
Perform non-destructive and destructive testing to verify weld integrity
n
n
Maintenance and Repair:n
n
Maintain welding equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure it operates efficiently
n
Repair or replace damaged or worn parts
n
n
Safety Compliance:n
n
Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
n
Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
n
n
Documentation:n
n
Maintain accurate records of welding operations, including material usage and inspection results
n
Document deviations from standard procedures and report to supervisors
n
n
Collaboration:n
n
Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and team members to complete projects efficiently
n




Provide guidance and training to junior welders or apprentices when required
n
n
Problem-Solving:n
n
Troubleshoot welding-related issues and develop effective solutions
n
n
Material Handling:n
n
Safely handle and store welding materials and tools
n
Ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations
n
n
Continuous Improvement:n
n
Stay updated with the latest welding techniques and industry best practices
n
Participate in ongoing training and professional development
n
n
n
Skills and Requirements:
n
n
Education: Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in a relevant field
n
Experience: 3+ years of experience in welding, gained either in Australia or overseas
n
Specialist Skills: Solid welding abilities and attention to detail
n
Work Rights: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holdern
n
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents will be preferred. Other applicants with full work rights can apply only if they meet the above criteria.

Ideal Candidate:
n
n
Previous experience in switchboard fabrication (advantageous)
n
Familiarity with CNC machinery (a plus, but not essential)
n
Strong focus on safety and correct manual handling techniques
n
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach
n
Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
n
