Here's what you'll be up to...
As a Field Operator – Labourer, you'll play an important role in maintaining and improving our public spaces andcivil infrastructure across the City. This is a hands‐on role where no two days are the same.
You will:
Operate a range of plant, tools and equipment across public space maintenance and civil works including roads, drainage, cleaning and waste services
Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operational
Perform manual labouring duties across civil construction and maintenance activities
Support traffic control activities where required and maintain safe work sites
Deliver excellent customer service to the community and represent Council positively
Work collaboratively with your team and contribute to a productive and protected work environment
Follow WHS requirements, Council policies and legislative standards in all tasks

What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is motivated, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team in a physically active role.
You will bring:
Experience in general civil labouring or a similar hands‐on environment
A strong commitment to safety and understanding of WHS principles
The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members and the public
A positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and take on varied tasks
A White Card (Work Safely in the Construction Industry)
The must-know bits
You will be required to undertake employment checks,
which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, to progress through the recruitment process.

Requirements
Ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Ability to deal in an appropriate manner with the general public
Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card
Knowledge of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles
Tertiary qualification in Civil Construction or related area
Competency in the use of various plant items
Current Traffic Controller card
Previous experience in Local Government
