combining full‐time paid work with formal TAFE training at
VU Sunshine

About the Role
With guidance and training, you will learn to:
Assemble and fit hydraulic equipment
Assist with testing and basic fault‐finding
Safely use hand and power tools
Operate lathes and milling machines
Complete basic MIG and stick welding tasks

Location:
Altona North, VIC
Work hours:
Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 3.30pm
Training Location:
Victoria University – Sunshine Campus
About you...
You will be willing to learn and take feedback on board
Keen to start a career in mechanical engineering
Comfortable completing trade school at
VU Sunshine TAFE
Able to work hands‐on in a workshop setting
Reliable, punctual, and safety‐focused
Committed to completing the full term of the apprenticeship
White Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
Commitment to balancing work and study responsibilities
No previous experience is required — a positive attitude and genuine interest in the trade are key.
