Senior Instructional Designer - Learning and Development

Location: Australia (prefer based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane)

Resolution Education is a fast‐growing specialist training company focused on workplace safety, occupational violence and aggression (OVA), and de‐escalation. We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer with advanced digital learning skills to lead the design and development of high‐quality training programs and ASQA‐compliant courses for our RTO and corporate clients.

This role is ideal for a self‐starter who thrives in a fast‐paced environment, can manage multiple projects, and enjoys keeping learning content fresh using the latest technologies.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Lead the end‐to‐end design and development of online and blended learning programs using Articulate Rise and related tools.
n
Design, develop, and maintain ASQA‐compliant accredited and non‐accredited courses ensuring alignment with regulatory and audit requirements.
n
Manage and mentor a small team of designers and content developers, providing clear direction, feedback, and support.
n
Work closely with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into engaging, practical learning experiences across sectors such as healthcare, government, NDIS, aged care, security, and corporate services.
n
Continuously review and refresh existing training materials, incorporating current technologies, media, and best practice instructional design.
n
Implement strong project management and tracking practices to plan, monitor, and report on multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
n




Contribute to learning content across formats, including e‐learning modules, facilitator guides, videos, scenarios, case studies, and supporting resources.
n
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure all learning solutions are on‐brand, evidence‐based, and outcome‐focused.

Essential skills and experience
n
n
Advanced experience with Articulate Rise (and ideally Storyline or similar) in a professional setting.
n
Demonstrated experience designing and developing ASQA‐aligned courses and working within an RTO environment.
n
Proven experience leading or managing a small team, including workload planning and performance support.
n
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and digital learning best practice.
n
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and perform under pressure, managing multiple projects and competing deadlines.
n
Exceptional project management and tracking skills using appropriate tools (e.g. MS Project, Excel, LMS/reporting dashboards, or similar).
n
Up‐to‐date and curious about new learning technologies and trends, with a track record of keeping course materials fresh and engaging.
n
Ability to work independently, take initiative,



and bring recommendations and advice rather than waiting for direction.
n
Excellent written and visual communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and alignment to brand guidelines.
n

Qualifications
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Instructional Design, Education, Training & Assessment, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
n
TAE or relevant VET‐sector qualification highly regarded.
n
Minimum 3–5 years' experience in instructional design, with at least 2+ years in an RTO or regulated training environment.
