We are seeking a motivated Journalist to join our dynamic team in Launceston, delivering Tasmania's only local news hour.

n

Seven West Media, merged with Southern Cross Media Group, is one of Australia's most prominent media companies with a market‐leading presence across television, radio, publishing and digital.

Responsibilities

n

Produce the state's only one hour news service and work closely with the presenting team in Hobart, the studio team in Canberra, and production colleagues in Launceston.

n

Develop and maintain positive relationships with key people and organisations.
n
Break stories and create engaging content.
n
Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner.
n
Maintain roster flexibility and willingness to work extra hours when the news day demands.
n

Qualifications

n

n
Proven journalism and editorial skills.
n
Solid understanding of media law and ethics.
n




Competency in script writing in TV News format.
n
Meticulous attention to detail with some experience in a newsroom.
n
Driven and energetic, able to think clearly and act quickly under pressure.
n
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally.
n
Ability to work in a quick‐paced setting with tight deadlines.
