The Opportunity:
n
We are seeking a Lawyer to join our respected Plaintiff Personal Injury team in our Sydney CBD office. This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about advancing the rights of vulnerable clients and achieving meaningful outcomes for survivors of abuse.
n
Approximately 60% of this role will involve acting for clients in institutional abuse matters, with the remainder focusing on a range of personal injury matters. You will work closely with highly experienced practitioners on complex, sensitive and rewarding cases, while developing your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Direct liaison with clients and providing accurate and timely advice
n
Preparing Court documents/orders and general correspondence
n
Managing high volume files and matters with occasional supervision
n
Attending court,
dispute resolution and settlements
n
Legal research
n
n
Successful candidates will have:
n
n
A valid NSW Practising Certificate
n
A minimum of 2–5 years PQE, ideally with experience in plaintiff personal injury and institutional abuse.
n
An understanding of the legislative and procedural framework relating to abuse and personal injury claims
n
Exceptional client care skills, with the ability to engage empathetically and sensitively with clients
n
Strong negotiation, mediation and advocacy skills
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
Solid client relationship and business development skills
n
The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment
n
