About the Role
n
We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Networking Engineer to join our Service & Support Operations team. This is a senior-level technical role focused on secure network design, escalations, client onboarding, and project delivery.
n
Based in Brisbane, this is a hybrid role combining work from home with on-site client engagement as required. You'll play a critical role in ensuring our clients' network and security environments are robust, resilient, and aligned with best practice frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
n
Provide Level 3 support for complex network and security incidents
n
Design and implement secure network architectures across on-premises and cloud environments
n
Lead network and security components of client onboarding, refreshes, and infrastructure projects
n
Act as a trusted consulting engineer for high-priority clients, advising on network security posture and performance
n
Take ownership of major incident response, particularly across firewalls, connectivity, and security events
n
Strengthen client environments through proactive security improvements and risk mitigation
n
Mentor engineers and contribute to network/security standards, documentation, and knowledge sharing
n
Participate in client reviews and initiatives to improve service quality and security maturity
n
Ensure all solutions align with industry best practices and recognised security frameworks
n
What You'll Bring
n
5 - 7+ years' experience in networking within an MSP workplace (essential)
n
Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet (FortiGate), FortiManager, ubiquiti unifi and Barracuda
n




Deep understanding of network security principles, including VPNs (IPSec/SSL), IDS/IPS, Zero Trust, segmentation, and access control
n
Advanced knowledge of routing and switching (BGP, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, STP)
n
Experience designing and supporting secure multi-site network environments
n
Strong experience with Azure networking and security, including:
n
Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, and peering
n
Network Security Groups (NSGs) and Azure Firewall
n
VPN Gateways and hybrid connectivity
n
Private Endpoints and secure service access
n
Managing and deploying virtual firewalls
n
Familiarity with identity-driven security (Entra ID / Azure AD integration with network controls)
n
Experience with enterprise wireless networks (design, optimisation, security)
n
Strong troubleshooting skills across All OSI layers
n
Experience with network monitoring tools such as PRTG and Auvik
n
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk into business impact
n
Proven ability to lead projects and mentor peers
