Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain cross‐platform applications using C++,Qt and QML, targeting Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android with exposure to embedded systems.

You'll work within a small, highly skilled engineering team to deliver industrial and commercial software products with a solid focus on user experience, reliability and maintainability.

What you will do

n

You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including:

n

Develop software in C++ and QML (primarily using the Qt framework) for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android.
n
Build web services and interfaces using REST and related technologies.
n
Apply object‐oriented design, software modelling and architectural principles.
n
Integrate software with hardware, computing systems and embedded platforms.
n
Conduct software testing, debugging, optimisation and code reviews.
n
Maintain version control and bug tracking systems.
n
Perform unit, integration and system testing.
n
Produce release documentation and support handover to production.
n
Provide technical input to product design, feasibility assessments and development planning
n
Support QA, Manufacturing and Customer Support as required.
n




Investigate and adopt current technologies relevant to product development.

What you'll bring

n

Essential skills & experience

n

n
Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience.
n
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
n
Strong proficiency in modern C++.
n
Experience developing applications using the Qt Framework, Widgets and QML.
n
Hands‐on development experience in Windows and macOS settings. Working knowledge of Linux development.
n
Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts.
n
Experience developing multi‐threaded applications.
n
Strong capability in software architecture and design.
n
Working knowledge of macOS development or deployment.
n
Ability to work independently across the full development lifecycle.
n
Right to work in Australia.
n

Desired skills

n
Experience with macOS, iOS or Android app deployment.
n
Experience, web Gui frameworks, Python or other scripting languages.
n
Exposure with embedded Linux environments.
n
Exposure with ARM Cortex‐M or NXP processors.
n
Exposure to Bluetooth communications (e.g. BLE).Understanding of Agile development practices.
