Our client is a leading Accounting Firm, centrally located in beautiful offices in the CBD.
They have a newly created role for an experienced Administration & Executive Support Lead to take ownership of their administration and executive support function.
This is a broad and influential role combining people leadership of the administrative support team, executive support and practice operations.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll ensure the firm's administration function runs efficiently, consistently and to a high standard, while creating a positive, accountable and high-performing team environment.
The Role
This is very much a hands-on leadership position.
You'll provide direction and support to the administration team, manage workloads and performance, improve workflow and processes and establish clear expectations to ensure the team delivers a consistently high level of support across the firm.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll provide 'light touch'Executive Assistantsupport to the CEO, including diary, email, meeting and travel coordination, and act as a key point of contact across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading, developing and managing a team of administration and support staff
Managing performance, workloads and service standards across the team
Providing coaching, feedback and development, including confidently addressing performance issues when required
Providing high-level EA support to the CEO
Overseeing front-of-house, client administration and day-to-day office operations
Reviewing and improving administrative processes, systems and workflows
Developing and documenting procedures, controls and team KPIs
Driving efficiencies and identifying opportunities to improve the way the administration function operates
Working closely with Partners and senior stakeholders across the firm
Overseeing facilities, suppliers and broader office requirements

About You
For this role, there are three key things we genuinely need:
Experience working within a small or mid-tier accounting firm
Senior Executive Assistant experience(ideally supporting a CEO, Managing Partner or similarly senior executive)
Proven experience directly managing and developing a team, including performance management and having constructive but sometimes difficult conversations.
We're looking for a confident and capable people leader who can build strong relationships while also setting expectations and holding people accountable.
You'll be highly organised, commercially minded and comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level.
You'll also enjoy improving processes and creating structure, but will be equally willing to roll up your sleeves and help when needed.
Most importantly, you'll bring the maturity, judgement and resilience to lead an established team through change while building a positive, collaborative and high-performing environment.
This is afull-time, predominantly office-based positionin a central Melbourne CBD location, close to public transport, shops and cafes etc, and presents an excellent chance for an experienced accounting practice professional who enjoys leadership but still wants to remain close to the day-to-day workings of the business.
