You became an accountant because you are good with people and good with numbers. Then the job turned into something else. Lodgements. Compliance. The same returns, the same deadlines, the same clients you only speak to once a year when something is due. You are smart, you are trusted, and you are spending most of your week processing and tracking instead of advising. You know you could change the way your clients build wealth, if only the model let you. That is the job we are building. Henderson is launching its own accounting arm, and we are doing it the Henderson way: client first, advice led, and built around outcomes instead of billable hours.
Who This Is For
You want to advise, structure and guide, not just lodge and reconcile
You think in terms of a client's whole financial picture, not a single tax year
You believe accounting and property strategy should work together, not in separate silos
You want your name on the relationship, not buried three layers below a partner you never see
You are commercial, curious, and you back yourself to give real advice
Who This Is Not For
You want a quiet seat where the work is handed to you and the year is predictable
You see clients as tasks to be processed rather than people to be guided
You need three rounds of sign off before you can give an opinion
You are protective of the old way of doing things
What You Will Own
Client relationships.
Be the trusted advisor across a portfolio of clients, most of whom already own property and want to build serious wealth.
Structuring and strategy.
Advise on entity structures, trusts, ownership, and the right setup for clients buying and holding property at scale.
Tax planning.
Proactive, forward looking advice that is delivered before the deadline, not as a reaction to it.
Compliance, done properly.
Review accurate returns, financials and lodgements. The baseline is excellent, not the whole job.
Alignment with the wider business.
Work alongside our buyers agents, strategists and asset management team so the accounting actually supports the property plan.
Build the standard.
This is a founding division. You will help shape the systems, the service model and the way we do accounting at scale.
How Success Is Measured
Clients who feel advised, not processed, reflected in retention and referrals
Proactive advice delivered ahead of deadlines, not scrambled at the end
Clean, accurate compliance with zero shortcuts and zero grey areas
Structuring decisions that genuinely improve client outcomes over time
A growing book that you have helped build and shape
Hard Non‐Negotiables
CA or CPA qualified
Strong experience across tax, structuring and advisory for individuals and entities
Confident communicator who can sit in front of a client and give clear, direct advice
Deep understanding of property related tax and ownership structures, or the appetite to master it fast
You move with urgency. At Henderson, ideas can go live within days, not quarters
Allergic to sloppy work and comfortable being held to a high standard
What You Get
A founding seat in a brand current division backed by one of Australia's most recognised property brands
A warm pipeline of clients who already trust Henderson and want more from their accountant
Direct access to Jack Henderson and the senior leadership team
Real influence over how this division is built, run and scaled
Elite systems, tools and a team that moves fast and celebrates wins
Quarterly retreats, team events, and a culture with energy, accountability and no passengers
Will You Fit Here
Henderson is built on speed, ownership and doing right by the client. We do not hide behind process. We do not sit on advice. We move, we deliver, and we hold ourselves to a standard most firms talk about but never reach. If you have ever looked at a client's situation and thought "I could do so much more for them if the firm let me", this is your chance to actually do it.
