We are looking for an experienced
Management Accountant
seeking a genuine part-time role with meaningful responsibility and school-hour flexibility.
Working directly with the Founder of a privately owned business, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while helping bring greater
financial structure, discipline and governance
to the business.
This is a hands-on role combining accounting, bookkeeping, cash-flow management and commercial analysis.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping and reconciliations
Accounts payable and receivable
Payroll, superannuation, BAS and GST
Cash-flow forecasting and management
Managing the timing and prioritisation of supplier payments
Month-end and management accounts
Working-capital management across debtors, creditors and inventory
Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Financial analysis of supply chain, purchasing and inventory
Analysis of workshop productivity, labour utilisation and efficiency
Establishing appropriate financial controls, processes and reporting disciplines
Developing and monitoring practical financial and operational KPIs
Working directly with the Founder to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement
About You
You will be a qualified or experienced accountant who is equally comfortable
doing the transactional work and analysing business performance
.
Ideally, you will have:




Accounting/Commerce qualifications, with CA/CPA highly regarded
Robust bookkeeping and management accounting experience
Strong cash-flow and working-capital capability
Payroll and compliance experience
Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft 365 capability, including Word and Teams
A good understanding of
AI and its practical application in the workplace
Confidence using technology and AI tools to improve reporting, analysis, administration and productivity
A structured and commercially minded approach
The ability to establish and maintain strong financial disciplines and controlsThe confidence to work autonomously and directly with the Founder
Experience within an
owner-led SME, automotive, workshop, manufacturing, distribution or inventory-based business
would be advantageous.
The Opportunity
This role has deliberately been structured around
school hours
and would suit an experienced accountant looking for flexibility without giving up meaningful responsibility.
You'll work closely with the Founder, have visibility across the entire business and play an important role in strengthening its financial management, controls, governance and commercial decision-making.
Monday-Friday, 10:00am-2:30pm, based in Seaford with up to one day per week working from home.
