Coordinator - Young Parents Program
to lead the delivery, development, and continuous improvement of our innovative Young Parents Program.

The Opportunity:
The Young Parents Program is a unique, co-designed group-based initiative that engages young mothers in safe, supportive, and empowering ways.
As Coordinator, you will work alongside Peer Support Workers to co-facilitate a 16-week group-based program that strengthens parenting capacity, improves wellbeing, and creates pathways to community connection.
This role combines program coordination, leadership, group facilitation, stakeholder engagement, responsive program delivery.
You will play a key role in ensuring young parents have access to the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
As the Coordinator, you will have the chance to:
Coordinate and co-facilitate
The Young Parent Project
, delivering a group-based program that enhances wellbeing, strengthens parenting capacity, and fosters community connection.
Undertake participant intake, assessment, and support planning, responding to safety and wellbeing concerns and connecting young parents with appropriate services and supports.
Empower young parents to navigate and engage with community services, resources,
and opportunities that promote positive outcomes for themselves and their children.
Provide supervision, mentoring, and ongoing support to Peer Support Workers, encouraging professional growth, reflective practice, and skill development
Build and maintain solid community partnerships and referral pathways, promoting the program and increasing engagement with young parents and key stakeholders.
Contribute to program evaluation, quality improvement, and continuous development initiatives to enhance service delivery and participant outcomes.
We're looking for someone with experience in group facilitation, program development, and community engagement, who understands the challenges and strengths of young parents, particularly those with experience in or at risk of entering the care and protection system.
This role can be full-time or part-time (0.8) subject to applicant requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate:
You are a compassionate and skilled practitioner who values the voices and lived experiences of young parents.
You bring a strengths-based approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build genuine partnerships with participants, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
Essential requirements:
Minimum qualifications in Community Services, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or a related discipline.
Minimum two years' relevant experience.
Highly developed group facilitation skills that create safe, engaging environments which foster connection and learning.
Sound knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and child-focused practice.
Ability to make informed decisions regarding safety and wellbeing, ensuring appropriate action is taken to support young parents and their children.
Commitment to the value of lived experience and the meaningful contribution of peer workers.
Demonstrated experience leading and supporting practitioners and/or peer workers through supervision, mentoring, and professional development.

Hold or be willing to obtain a current Senior First Aid Certificate
Hold a current, unencumbered Australian driver's licence and be willing to drive
