This opportunity sits across two privately owned business groups based in North Sydney.

The role supports CABER Group, the parent company of businesses including CJC Management and CaSE Civil & Structural Engineering, alongside Sunny Balcony Group, a portfolio of founder-led businesses spanning recruitment, grants and funding advisory, AI, digital services, franchising and business support.
n
Together, the group operates across infrastructure, engineering, professional services and high-growth businesses, creating a diverse and commercially interesting environment for finance professionals.

The Opportunity
n
We're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team and support multiple entities across the group.
n
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is a hands‐on position with responsibility for financial reporting, compliance, cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering.
n
Approximately 60% of the role supports CABER Group entities, with the remaining 40% focused on Sunny Balcony businesses.
n
This is not a siloed accounting role. You'll work closely with business leaders across the group, providing financial insights that support decision‐making and business performance.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
n
Manage month‐end and year‐end reporting processes.
n
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet and P&L.;
n
Complete reconciliations and investigate variances.
n
Support board and management reporting requirements.
n
n
Cashflow, Budgeting & Forecasting
n
n
Support weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting.
n
Assist with annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
n
Monitor working capital and cash positions across entities.
n
Deliver variance analysis and performance reporting.
n
n
Compliance & Governance
n
n
Prepare and review BAS, PAYG,
payroll tax and other statutory obligations.
n
Support external audits and year‐end financial statements.
n
Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
n
Maintain strong financial controls and governance processes.
n
n
Business Partnering
n
n
Work closely with operational leaders across multiple businesses.
n
Provide commercial and financial insights.
n
Support strategic and operational decision‐making.
n
Identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
n
n
Systems & Process Improvement
n
n
Improve reporting processes and finance workflows.
n
Support automation and reporting initiatives.
n
Assist with optimisation of finance systems and controls.
n
n
About You
n
n
CA or CPA qualified.
n
5+ years' experience within financial accounting, management accounting or similar positions.
n
Robust month‐end reporting experience.
n
Experience working across multiple entities or group structures.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
n
Experience with systems such as Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, Dynamics or similar.
n
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
n
Ability to communicate effectively with operational and non‐finance stakeholders.
n

Highly Regarded

Experience within engineering, infrastructure, construction or skilled services businesses.
n
Exposure to multi‐entity environments.
n
Strong budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management experience.
n
Previous involvement in process improvement initiatives.
