Job Description
Permanent full-time - 35 hours a week

n Salary: $108,****** - $125,****** + 12% Superannuation per annum

What You'll Do
n
As our Development Assessment Planner, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our community by assessing a diverse range of development proposals and providing expert planning advice that supports sustainable growth and quality outcomes.
n
In this role, you will:
n
n
Assess and prepare reports for a variety of development applications, including multi-dwelling residential developments, commercial and industrial projects, and subdivisions.
n
Provide professional planning advice and guidance to applicants, the community, and internal stakeholders, delivering a high standard of customer service.
n
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Council to achieve timely, consistent, and well-informed planning outcomes.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and business transformation activities that enhance the way we deliver planning services.
n
Support the Coordinator and Manager in achieving strategic objectives while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused, and high-performing team culture

What You'll Need (Essential Criteria)
n
n
Degree qualifications in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning,
Science or equivalent discipline with a minimum 3 years' demonstrated experience in Town Planning / Development Assessment, within a local government context.
n
Ability to critically analyse and assess plans and technical reports against numerical standards, merit-based considerations and objectives
n
Demonstrated extensive and detailed knowledge of relevant legislation including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act **** and Regulations ****, with proven comprehensive experience in the assessment of complex development proposals in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial and rural contexts.
n
Demonstrated ability to build qualified relationships within the development industry and provide ahigh level of customer service.
n
Demonstrated ability to be resilient to work pressures and demands
n
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to critically analyse issues and the ability to develop and implement appropriate solutions.
n
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to negotiate outcomes and resolve conflict.
n

Other Requirements

Hold and maintain a current C Class Drivers Licence
n
Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
n
