The Role
n
Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering merchandise financial plans that maximise sales, profit and stock productivity.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Develop seasonal merchandise plans and budgets
n
Forecast sales, gross profit and inventory performance
n
Analyse trading results and identify commercial opportunities
n
Manage Open-to-Buy and stock investment
n
Review and reforecast weekly and monthly performance
n
Recommend markdown and promotional strategies
n




Partner closely with Buying teams to build commercially successful ranges
n
Monitor key performance indicators including sell through, stock turn, margin and GMROI
n
Prepare detailed reporting and recommendations for senior leadership
n
Identify risks and opportunities and implement corrective action
n
Mentor and support Planning Analysts where required
n

About You
n
To be successful you will ideally possess:
n
n
Previous experience as a Merchandise Planner within retail
n
Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
n
Advanced Excel skills
n
Experience working with planning systems
n
Excellent forecasting and inventory management skills
n
Ability to influence stakeholders through data and commercial insight
n
Strong communication and presentation skills
n
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
n
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
n
n
Experience within apparel, accessories, footwear, children's products, general merchandise or specialty retail will be highly regarded.
n
