Senior Lawyer – Prosecutions
Salary: $116,413 - $128,631 (Plus Superannuation)
Fixed term role: 6 months
Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)

The Role
The Senior Lawyer's role includes reviewing briefs of evidence for sufficiency of evidence, providing authoritative and accurate legal advice and recommendations to investigators and authorised officers, prosecuting contraventions across a broad range of laws, including those relating to the Fisheries Act **** and other relevant legislation the VFA enforces, managing the administration of offence files, infringement notice and official warnings as well as mentoring other Prosecutors within the Unit.
Main accountabilities:
Provide legal support to the Community Engagement and Major Crime Division to achieve strategic enforcement outcomes
Prepare and conduct prosecutions of Fisheries and other offences
Work collaboratively with the wider VFA as part of a multi-disciplinary investigations and prosecution team within the Community Engagement and Major Crime Division




Build and maintain constructive qualified relationships with external stakeholders
