THE OPPORTUNITY This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workplace Relations lawyer to join a growing Brisbane practice with a sophisticated client base and broad mix of contentious and advisory work.
You will work closely with a highly regarded Partner who brings a distinctive combination of private practice and senior in-house experience with a leading global financial institution.
Having advised businesses across Australia and the broader APAC region, he brings a highly commercial perspective and is accustomed to advising senior executives, boards, HR leaders and in-house legal teams on complex and sensitive workplace issues.
The breadth of the practice is a key attraction.
The team advises leading employers, government bodies and statutory corporations across employment and industrial relations matters spanning disputes, workplace investigations, executive and disciplinary matters, industrial action, enterprise agreement issues, restrictive covenants, discrimination claims, restructuring and strategic advisory work.
You will also gain exposure to evolving areas such as psychosocial risk, whistleblower matters and workforce issues arising from major corporate transactions, providing an interesting mix of employment law, governance, reputational and commercial considerations.
As a Senior Associate, you will be trusted to lead matters and advise clients directly, while also having the opportunity to help shape the development of the team as the practice continues to expand.

ABOUT YOU You will ideally bring: Senior-level experience across Workplace Relations and Employment law Proven experience handling both contentious and non-contentious employment matters Broad employment advisory experience General litigation experience will be highly regarded Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills The ability to provide commercially astute and pragmatic advice Confidence leading matters and dealing with senior stakeholders The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively Experience mentoring junior lawyers An interest in contributing to the development of a growing practice.
