The business operates structured seasonal growing cycles involving planting, crop maintenance, harvesting, grading and distribution.
Due to ongoing expansion and increasing production targets, they are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to oversee daily horticultural operations.
Irrigation Technician Key Responsibilities Install, operate and maintain irrigation systems across farm production areas, including pumps, pipelines, valves, filters, sprinklers, drip lines and water meters.
Assess crop and soil watering requirements and adjust irrigation schedules, flow rates and system settings to ensure appropriate and productive water distribution.
Inspect irrigation infrastructure regularly to identify leaks, blockages, pressure problems, damaged pipes, faulty valves or other system defects.
Diagnose irrigation system faults and carry out routine repairs, replacement of components and preventative maintenance to minimise disruption to farming operations.
Monitor water pressure, flow rates and irrigation coverage and make necessary adjustments to improve system performance and reduce water wastage.




Set out and connect irrigation lines and associated equipment for new or existing crop-growing areas in accordance with farm production requirements.
Clean and maintain pumps, filters, emitters, sprinklers and other irrigation components to ensure reliable operation and prevent clogging or equipment failure.
Assist with determining appropriate irrigation system capacity and hydraulic requirements based on field size, crop requirements, water availability and existing farm infrastructure.
Monitor soil moisture and crop conditions and coordinate with farm management to determine suitable irrigation frequency and duration.
Maintain records of irrigation activities, system inspections, maintenance, repairs and water usage where required by farm procedures.
Assist in preparing growing areas by ensuring irrigation infrastructure is correctly positioned and operational before planting or crop establishment.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures when operating pumps, irrigation equipment, machinery and other farm infrastructure.
Skills and Experience required: ·Relevant qualifications are required.
·One year of relevant experience is required.
·Ability to work under strict weather conditions ·Ability to work in team and on your own ·Good work ethics ·Physical fitness and endurance to work outdoors for long hours ·Ability to work in various weather conditions Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 plus Superannuation per annum.
