Disability Support Worker Complex Support Needs LLM Support Services is seeking experienced, reliable and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join a new support team providing 1:1 support to a participant living with Level 3 Autism, complex communication needs, epilepsy, ADHD and high support needs.
This is a hands-on, person-centred role requiring workers who are confident supporting complex needs, able to anticipate and respond to behaviours proactively, and committed to providing consistent, safe and respectful support.
Key Responsibilities As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality 1:1 support, including: Supporting the participant with daily living, personal care and household activities.
Providing support both within the home and in the community, including outings, appointments, shopping and meaningful activities.
Following the participant's individual Support Manual, routines, procedures and care requirements.
Providing appropriate supervision and maintaining a safe setting.
Recognising triggers, anticipating behaviours and using proactive redirection and positive support strategies.
Supporting communication and engagement in a way that respects the participant's individual communication needs.
Supporting epilepsy management and responding appropriately to seizures in accordance with established procedures.
Assisting with medication in accordance with medication management procedures.
Completing accurate and detailed shift documentation within the allocated shift time.
Maintaining effective communication with informal supports and other members of the support team.
Assisting with household duties and maintaining a clean, organised and safe living environment.
Promoting dignity, choice, independence and quality of life throughout all aspects of support.
Maintaining professional boundaries,
confidentiality and privacy at all times.
Working collaboratively as part of a consistent and reliable support team.
What We're Looking For The successful applicants will be calm, patient, observant, reliable and proactive, with the confidence to work with complex and high support needs.
You must have: A minimum of 5 years' Support Work experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting people with Autism, ADHD, epilepsy and complex/high support needs.
Experience with seizure management.
Experience with medication assistance/management.
Current required NDIS compliance, including NDIS Worker Screening Check, Blue Card where applicable, First Aid and CPR.
Ability and willingness to thoroughly read and follow the participant's Support Manual.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
A willingness to complete 12 buddy shifts before commencing independently.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including occasional longer shifts and sleepovers.
Reliability and the ability to provide reasonable notice for cancellations wherever possible.
Comfort with cameras being used within the home for monitoring and informal support purposes.
A genuine commitment to person-centred disability support.
The Role Daily shifts will be 6+ hours, with occasional shifts of up to 12 hours.
There are multiple shifts available, with opportunities for workers who can commence as soon as possible.
