A Outback QLD hospital requires a Senior Medical Officer in General Practice from 22/06/2026 to 02/01/2027.
Ongoing position available.
General Practice Duties
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
One-hour lunch break daily
Best Practice clinical software
Dedicated full time administration and nursing support staff
Hospital Duties
Participation in the daily morning scrum at 8:00 am
Morning ward rounds
Coverage of Emergency Department, inpatient wards, and outpatient clinics as required

Hospital Information
This hospital has 24 beds and provides 24 hour acute and emergency care, including maternity and theatre services.
Community and Allied Health Services are available including: cardiology clinic, alcohol and drugs,



child development, diabetes education, dental, mental health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology, Antenatal clinics are provided.
With a population of around 3,500 it is the base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of Distance Education.
The town is also home to a Cosmos Centre, which houses an observatory perfect for viewing the Milky Way Galaxy.
Accommodation will be provided in a self contained non sharing fully furnished unit and a car to use after hours.
Duties will include working as per the local roster and sharing the after hours on call.
Flights from Brisbane are through Rex Airlines only.
