As a Security Architect
n
You will be passionate about shaping secure, forward-thinking solutionsthat protect millions of users and systems. In this role, you'll be a trustedexpert, helping define and embed security architecture and standards acrossmajor strategic initiatives.
n
Crucial: We are seeking hands-on Security Architects with provenexperience in cyber architecture assessment. This capability is highly valuedbecause it ensures you can directly evaluate and design secure solutions ratherthan only oversee the process.
n
While leadership experience is respected, this role is best suited forprofessionals who have personally delivered architecture assessments andsolution designs, not just led teams executing the work.
n
Risk assessment experience is advantageous, but your primary expertiseshould be in security solution assessment, as this is the core skill we'relooking for.
n
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to providesecurity thought leadership, steer architectural decisions, and make sure oursolutions are resilient, future-ready, and aligned with Cyber SecurityStrategy.

What you'll be doing

Define and govern
securityarchitectures
across major tech initiatives.
n
Ensure alignment with Telstra'ssecurity policies, principles, and risk frameworks.
n
Lead security quality
assuranceactivities
and support operational readiness.
n
Collaborate with
architects,engineers,
vendors, and business teams to embed appropriate securitycontrols.
n
Evaluate new
securitytechnologies
and help shape our capability roadmaps.
n
Create reusable frameworks andpatterns to simplify future projects.
n
Translate technical risk intobusiness context — enabling informed, confident decisions.
n
Support the creation andgovernance of enterprise security strategies and standards.
n
Build strong
relationshipsacross
the tech industry to stay ahead of emerging threats andopportunities.
n

What you bring
n
n
5+ years in complex
securityarchitecture
and solutioning.
n
Expertise in
securityrequirements,
control definition, and risk assessment.
n
Transparent communicator — able totranslate technical ideas into business value.
n
Comfortable working throughambiguity and shifting priorities.
n
Familiarity withService-Oriented and RESTful architecture design.
n
Experience with securecloud-based solutions.
n
Exposure to AI/ML securityconcepts, including generative and agentic AI.
n

Certifications that would shine
n
n
Security/Risk: CISSP, CISM,CRISC, SABSA
