About Simpson Health Centre
Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD).
Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre.
The Army base services approximately **** Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7.
The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services.
Standard operating hours are generally 07:*******:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).




This role is full time Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you'll do
Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members
Conductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
Undertaking assessments, interventions, managing medications, formulating treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions
Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount
What you bring
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
One of the following:
ACMHN credentialed
Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
Mental Health trained nurse / UK trained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
Minimum two years' Post RN general registration experience within last five yearsin mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' as per Medicare Schedule
Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
AustralianCitizenshiprequiredto obtain Baseline Security Clearance
Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
