St Vincent's College is an independent day and boarding school offering a contemporary Catholic Education for girls in Years 7-12. The College is seeking to appoint a professional, enthusiastic, and student-focused Boarding Coordinator to join the Boarding team on a full-time basis. This position operates on a regular roster and includes on-site accommodation.
n
The Role
n
n
Ensuring the well-being, safety, pastoral and academic care of the Boarder
n
Possessing knowledge of each Boarder and their families
n
Facilitating the behaviours expected of adolescent girls living in community
n
Supervision of the day to day routines of boarding life
n
Maintaining accurate records and rolls
n
Possession of a full knowledge of the Coordinators Handbook, associated procedures, and the College Staff Handbook
n
Facilitation of academic progress via supervised study
n
Administer medications as required
n
Maintaining good relations and communication with parents
n
Ensuring the amenity of setting is clean and tidy
n
Liaison as required with the Dean of Boarding and other ancillary staff
n
Timely communication to the Deans for Junior, Middle and Senior School
n
Undertake evacuation and lock-down drills and ensure WHS issues are dealt with
n
Aid in planning and implementing the weekend activity program for the Boarders, and the in-weekends
n
Maintenance of documentation, including the daily report
n
Being available before the beginning of each term and the end of each term, as required,
for set up and pack up of Boarders
n
Possession of an understanding of the College's Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct, Bullying Policy and assist in the implementation of the College's Workplace, Health and Safety Policy
n
Willingness to undertake other duties, on occasion, as required to ensure the smooth running of Boarding House
n
Being prepared to undertake an Induction, training in the College Procedures and Policies essential to Boarding, and complete the Duty of Care training provided by Australian Boarding Schools Association
n

Qualifications / Certifications
n
n
Current Working with Children Check (Employee)(WWCC)
n
Current HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid) and HLTAID009 (Provide CPR) (or willingness to undertake)
n
Youth Mental Health First Aid (or willingness to undertake)
n
Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates (or willingness to undertake)
n
Driver Licence (preferred but not essential)
n
Duty of Care Certification from ABSA (Australian Boarding Schools Association) (or willingness to undertake)
n
Other relevant qualifications (e.g. nursing, teaching, youth work, residential care, adolescent health)
n
n
Knowledge, Competencies, and Experience

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
n
Superior interpersonal and negotiation skills
n
High level information, communication and technology (ICT) skills
n
Capacity to maintain a duty of care focus at all times
n
Ability to work within a team structure and autonomously

Understanding of adolescent development, particularly with respect to girls
n
Ability to identify Work Health and Safety needs of the Boarding House
n
Capacity to support the policies, processes, procedures and routines of the Boarding House
