We are hiring a Finance Manager to strengthen our finance team and support the next phase of growth.

Role Overview
n
Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager will take ownership of RJ Living's core finance processes. This is a hands‐on role: you'll prepare reports, build budgets and forecasts, and deliver analysis that supports decisions across the business.

Key Responsibilities
n
Monthly Reporting
n
n
With support from the bookkeeper, prepare and deliver monthly management reports for the CFO.
n
Partner with the CFO and department heads to analyse performance against budget and forecast.
n
Improve reporting processes, templates, and dashboards.
n
n
Budgeting & Forecasting
n
n
Lead the annual budgeting process with the CFO and leadership team.
n
Maintain rolling forecasts with scenario modelling to support decision‐making.
n
Provide variance analysis and recommendations for the CFO and leadership.
n
Build and maintain robust three‐way financial models (P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to forecast business performance and manage liquidity.
n

Data‐Driven Projects
n
n
Work with the CFO and teams across marketing, operations, and product to gather data and deliver analysis.
n
Build financial models for investment cases, store performance, and category analysis.
n
Develop dashboards and analytics in Power BI (or similar tools) to support a data‐driven culture and provide real‐time insights to leadership.
n
n
Controls & Compliance
n
n
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and obligations.
n
Manage external audit requirements, working with the CFO and external accountants.
n
Ensure accurate and timely BAS preparation and lodgement,
with robust working knowledge of GST concepts (including input‐taxed, GST‐free, and mixed supplies relevant to retail/e‐commerce).
n
Manage Workcover registrations, remuneration declarations, and renewals across all applicable states (VIC, NSW, QLD).
n
Oversee payroll tax registrations and monthly/annual filingsacross relevant states, monitoring grouping provisions and threshold obligations as the business expands.
n
Ensure compliance with Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting obligations, including finalisation and reconciliation with the ATO.
n
Maintain oversight of other statutory and regulatory lodgements (e.g. FBT, PAYG
withholding/instalments,
ASIC company obligations) as required.

ERP Implementation
n
n
Lead the finance workstream for RJ Living's transition from Xero and Cin7 to NetSuite (scheduled July ****), ensuring a successful migration of financial data, processes, and controls.
n
Act as the primary finance stakeholder and main point of contact for the NetSuite implementation, working closely with internal teams and external implementation partners.
n
Design, document, and optimise finance processes within NetSuite, ensuring best‐practice workflows, reporting, and internal controls.
n
Support user testing (UAT), training, and post‐implementation optimisation to maximise the value of the new ERP platform.
n
Drive ongoing continuous improvement of finance systems, automation, and reporting capabilities as the business scales.
n
n
People & HR
n
n
Act as RJ Living's internal HR lead, providing day‐to‐day advice and support to managers on people matters, policies, and HR best practice.
n
Guide managers through recruitment, onboarding, performance management, remuneration reviews, disciplinary processes, and employee relations matters.
n
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, Modern Awards, Fair Work requirements, and company policies.
n
Maintain accurate employee records, employment documentation, and HR processes.
n
Coordinate HR administration, including employment contracts, policy updates, and annual compliance requirements.
n
Act as system owner for Tanda, ensuring employees are correctly onboarded, rostered, and set up in the platform, and that awards/pay conditions are configured accurately.
n
Oversee the integration and reconciliation of payroll data between Tanda and Xero, ensuring accurate and timely pay runs.
n
Maintain strong working knowledge of Modern Award interpretation, including overtime, penalty rates, allowances, and other pay conditions, to ensure correct application and compliance.
n
Partner with managers to troubleshoot Tanda/payroll queries and continuously improve rostering and timesheet accuracy.
n

Skills & Experience
n
n
Must be CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years' experience.
n
Must have background in Big 4 or mid‐tier accounting firms in audit.
n
Track record in reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
n
Strong background in three‐way financial modelling.
n
Strong Excel and modelling skills; Power BI or similar BI/data analytics tool experience highly valued.
n
Analytical, detail‐oriented, able to turn data into insights.
n
Retail, consumer, or e‐commerce experience a bonus.
n
Clear communicator, able to work across teams and support the CFO.
