They are developing multi-gigawatt renewable capacity across solar, wind, and battery storage projects, requiring sophisticated commercial structuring to secure long-term power offtake agreements supporting project development and financial close.
The business is expanding commercial capability to structure complex power purchase agreements with corporate offtakers, retailers, and government entities.
They require experienced deal structuring expertise to design innovative PPA solutions, negotiate commercial terms, and close high-value transactions supporting their renewable development pipeline.
They are seeking a Structured Deals Manager focused on power purchase agreements to lead complex PPA structuring and commercial execution for renewable energy projects.

The Role
As Structured Deals Manager - PPAs, you will design, structure, and execute complex power purchase agreements for utility-scale renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and battery storage.
This role focuses on developing innovative commercial solutions for sophisticated offtakers requiring bespoke structures beyond standard PPA frameworks.
You will structure complex PPA terms including firming arrangements, hybrid offtakes, shape contracts, and innovative pricing mechanisms, negotiate commercial agreements with corporate buyers and retailers, model deal economics balancing project requirements with offtaker needs, and coordinate transaction execution with development, finance, legal, and trading teams.
Taking direct accountability for deal structuring and commercial outcomes, you will close high-value agreements supporting multi-billion dollar renewable developments.
This is a commercial structuring role requiring both analytical capability and negotiation skills, with direct impact on project viability and revenue certainty for major renewable infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
PPA Structuring & Deal Design:
Structure complex power purchase agreements for utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects
Design innovative commercial solutions including firming arrangements, hybrid structures, and shape contracts
Develop pricing mechanisms balancing fixed and floating components, indexation, and revenue certainty
Structure LGC allocation, renewable energy guarantees, and environmental attribute frameworks




Create bespoke solutions for complex offtaker requirements including load-following and firming obligations
Model deal economics across multiple scenarios including price, volume, and counterparty risk
Commercial Negotiation & Execution:
Lead commercial negotiations with corporate offtakers, retailers, and government procurement teams
Negotiate term sheets and commercial heads of agreement for complex PPA structures
Close long-term offtake agreements ranging from *****+ years supporting project financial close
Coordinate with legal teams on contract documentation and risk allocation
Manage commercial discussions balancing project economics with offtaker requirements
Drive transactions from term sheet through execution and financial close
Develop financial models for PPA evaluation including revenue analysis, cash flow projections, and risk assessment
Model complex pricing structures incorporating basis risk, shape risk, and volumetric exposure
Assess project revenue potential under various offtake scenarios and market conditions
Evaluate trade-offs between revenue certainty, merchant exposure, and project economics
Support investment decisions with commercial analysis and deal recommendations
Analyse market fundamentals and competitive positioning for pricing strategies
Identify and qualify opportunities for structured PPA solutions with sophisticated offtakers
Build relationships with corporate energy buyers, retailers, and procurement teams
Develop pipeline of complex offtake opportunities supporting renewable development portfolio
Collaborate with origination teams on market positioning and commercial strategy
Track competitive landscape and emerging PPA structures in renewable energy markets
Identify innovative structures addressing evolving market requirements
Stakeholder Coordination:
Partner with project development teams to align offtake structures with project timelines and economics
Coordinate with trading teams on price risk, merchant exposure, and hedging strategies
Work with finance teams on revenue modelling, bankability requirements, and project financing
Collaborate with legal teams on contract negotiation, documentation, and risk allocation
Engage with engineering teams on technical requirements impacting commercial structures
Interface with international structuring teams across global operations
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in finance, engineering, economics, or related discipline




7-10 years' experience in renewable energy project development, PPA structuring, or energy trading with commercial focus
Proven track record structuring and closing complex power purchase agreements for renewable energy projects
Deep understanding of Australian electricity markets including NEM operations, spot pricing, and contract structures
Solid financial modelling skills including deal economics, revenue analysis, and risk assessment
Experience structuring PPAs including pricing mechanisms, firming arrangements, shape contracts, and settlement terms
Demonstrated capability negotiating complex commercial agreements with corporate offtakers and retailers
Understanding of renewable energy project development including development timelines, grid connection, and financial close requirements
Knowledge of environmental certificates (LGCs), renewable energy targets, and corporate sustainability commitments
Strong commercial acumen with focus on deal economics, bankability, and project viability
Excellent negotiation skills with ability to close complex long-term agreements
Proficiency with financial modelling, scenario analysis, and deal evaluation
Collaborative approach with ability to work across development, finance, trading, and legal functions
Experience with battery storage offtakes, hybrid projects, or innovative firming structures desirable
Background in renewable energy developers, utilities, or energy trading houses advantageous
