About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join FOAME on a full-time basis at our Coburg North, VIC location. This is a key finance position where you will take responsibility for managing the complete bookkeeping function, ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to the strategic financial management of our growing businesses. You will play an essential role in supporting our management team with timely and accurate financial information. You will be responsible for handling 8 different accounts for multiple industries.
What you'll be doing
Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment scheduling and reconciliation
Maintain accurate and complete general ledger records and prepare regular reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
Process payroll administration, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and timely payment of employees
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis
Manage cash flow forecasting and reporting to support business planning
Maintain and update accounting systems and databases, ensuring data integrity
Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision‐making by management
Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including BAS and payroll tax requirements
What we're looking for
Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper in a small to medium‐size business environment
Robust proficiency with accounting software packages, such as MYOB, Xero or similar cloud‐based accounting systems
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, double‐entry accounting and financial reporting requirements
Knowledge of Australian taxation requirements, including GST,
BAS and payroll tax compliance
Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy in all financial records
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‐paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience supervising or training junior bookkeeping staff is preferred
A relevant accounting qualification (such as Diploma of Accounting or CertIV in Accounting) is advantageous
