Western Australia operates one of the most complex power systems in the world. As large-scale renewables evolve and generation sources transition, we're addressing increasingly complex challenges in system strength, stability, and network capability.
n
We're looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to play a key technical role in shaping how WA's transmission network evolves to support large-scale electrification, new generation connections, and a rapidly changing power system.
n
Your Role in Action
n
This is a senior technical role at the centre of complex system challenges. You'll lead high-impact power system studies and translate them into practical network decisions that influence augmentation plans, system limits, and long-term strategic planning direction.
n
You'll work across planning, operations and external stakeholders—bringing clarity to technically complex, often competing, system requirements.
n
n
Contribute to network development strategies, planning decisions and business cases that shape future transmission network capability.
n
Assess system strength, stability, and network capability impacts of new and existing connections.
n
Develop and maintain network models (PowerFactory), including generator and load dynamic models.
n
Provide technical advice on large generator and customer connections, balancing system capability with project delivery expectations, while keeping network strategy in consideration.
n
Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate complex technical and commercial consideration.
