About the Role
n
An opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Environment & Community Advisor to join our Environment & Community team at Middlemount Coal. Reporting to the Environment, Community & Approvals Manager, the Environment & Community Advisor plays a key role in supporting environmental compliance, rehabilitation, community engagement and approvals management across the operation.
n
The successful candidate will provide practical environmental advice to operational teams and support the delivery of environmental obligations, rehabilitation commitments, Ground Disturbance Permit processes and regulatory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Support environmental compliance and environmental management systems.
n
Coordinate environmental monitoring programs and reporting requirements.
n
Assist with Ground Disturbance Permit (GDP) administration and GIS mapping.
n
Support implementation of the Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan (PRCP).
n
Contribute to rehabilitation planning, disturbance tracking and rehabilitation reporting.
n
Assist with development and maintenance of Estimated Rehabilitation Cost (ERC) submissions.
n
Support implementation and reporting of environmental offset commitments.
n
Conduct environmental inspections, audits and field verification activities.
n
Manage environmental consultants and contractors as required.
n
Support community engagement activities and stakeholder interactions.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role you will possess:
n
Essential
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
n
Previous experience within the mining, resources or heavy industry sectors.
n
Robust understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
n
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
n

Desirable
n
n
Knowledge of Queensland environmental approval requirements.
n
Experience with rehabilitation planning and reporting.
n
Familiarity with PRCP, ERC and environmental monitoring programs.
n
Experience with GIS systems and Ground Disturbance Permit processes.
n
Knowledge of ISO ***** environmental management systems.
n
