Group Manager Setting and Regulatory Services

To help us achieve this we are seeking a progressive, energetic leader to drive excellence in our Environment & Regulatory Services Group.As Group Manageryou will oversee a team of 38 professional and field staff and play a vital role in the leadership team of the Community Planning and Environment Division.

On a day-to-day basis, this role will:
n
n
Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Environment & Regulatory Services Group.
n
Provide oversight to the following council services through your team Managers and Coordinators; Natural Resources, Sustainability, Environmental, Environmental Health, Development Compliance, Ranger and Animal services
n
Ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards while promoting a safety-first culture among the team.
n
Manage service delivery within budgetary constraints.
n
Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement through effective leadership and mentorship, ensuring operational excellence in environmental and regulatory services.

The Environment and Regulatory
n Services team is passionate about delivering what we say we will to our
n community to meet their needs now and into the future. Our immediate priorities
n include embedding Council's new Compliance and Enforcement Policy, delivering
n key environmental strategies including the Biodiversity Management Action Plan
n and Urban Canopy Plan, and meeting the regulatory demands of one of the fastest
n growing regions in NSW.

To succeed in this role you will have:
n
n
Relevant degree level qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or Environmental Health or an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
n
Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role including managing, coaching and developing teams.
n
Highly developed oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated stakeholder engagement and community consultation experience.
n
Experience in driving continuous improvement and innovation to enhance service delivery.
n
Proven ability to deliver customer-focused services, assess complex issues, and support evidence-based decision-making, integrating sustainability and resilience considerations into planning and operations.
n

Remuneration and Benefits
n
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per
n week
n
Starting salary in the range of $220k - $230k (inclusive of superannuation)
n
Option of leaseback or vehicle allowance
n
Relocation assistance is available for candidates moving to the region
