What You'll Do

As a GIS Analyst, you'll be responsible for managing the accuracy, structure and accessibility of ATCO's geospatial data, enabling engineering, planning and field teams to make informed, data-driven decision
n
As a GIS Analyst, you'll be responsible for managing the accuracy, structure and accessibility of ATCO's geospatial data, enabling engineering, planning and field teams to make informed, data-driven decisions.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
Maintain the integrity, accuracy and governance of spatial datasets through robust QA/QC processes, ensuring reliable asset information and compliance with operational standards.
n
Manage and optimise enterprise GIS databases, geospatial systems and asset mapping processes to accurately reflect network construction, maintenance and infrastructure changes.
n
Develop and maintain GIS tools, dashboards, models and automated workflows using technologies such as ArcGIS and FME to improve efficiency, data visibility and decision-making.
n
Deliver advanced spatial analysis, mapping and visualisation solutions that support planning, project delivery, operational performance and stakeholder engagement.
n
Provide technical GIS expertise, advice and support to engineering, field,
planning and regulatory stakeholders on spatial methodologies, data structures and best practices.
n
Drive continuous improvement of GIS platforms, system integrations and automation capabilities while collaborating across teams to enhance data quality, user experience and business outcomes.

Essential
n
n
Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Surveying, Cartography, Environmental Science (Spatial), Computer Science, or a related discipline.
n
Demonstrated experience managing spatial datasets and GIS solutions within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or other asset-intensive environments.
n
Strong proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, enterprise GIS environments, spatial analysis, data management, and GIS database administration.
n
Experience using FME and scripting technologies such as Python, SQL, Arcade, or similar tools to support data transformation, automation, and system integration.
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical GIS advice to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable
n
n
Experience working with ArcGIS Utility Network, ArcSDE and enterprise geodatabase environments.
n
Exposure to CAD-to-GIS integration workflows using MicroStation or AutoCAD, along with web-based GIS solutions such as ArcGIS Online, Dashboards and Power BI.
n
Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Esri or FME) and an understanding of spatial data governance, standards and GIS best practices.
n
