Ignite your trade career with a hands‐on Diesel Fitting apprenticeship that provides you experience with working on exciting machinery from day one. Under the guidance of experienced tradespersons, you will build practical, in‐demand skills through a competency‐based program combining structured training with real‐world, on‐the‐job experience.
n
You will gain exposure to the service, maintenance and repair of a wide range of plant and equipment systems, including engines, transmissions, clutches, hydraulics, braking systems and more – developing the technical expertise that keeps Councils mechanical equipment operating at peak performance.
n
This apprenticeship includes completing a 4‐year Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology through TAFE North Queensland, setting you up with a nationally recognised qualification and strong foundations for a long‐term career in diesel mechanics.

The Council contribution to employees' superannuation for contributing employees shall be 13.5% of the employees' ordinary time earnings subject to the employee contributing a minimum of 6% of their ordinary time earnings.

About the Candidate
n
n
Willingness to be part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
n
Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics.
n
Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers' licence (or ability to obtain).
n
Sound written and verbal communication skills.
n
Sound computer skills.
n
Ability to work effectively and be positively involved within a team environment.
n
Complete all training and assessment requirements of a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology as per the provided training plan.
n
This includes attending and participating in structured formal learning at the nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as well as keeping an accurate and up to date training record book.
