AO5 Workplace Health Safety Advisor Construction Maintenance Hourly Rate: $***** per hour + superannuation QLD Government Initial Contract: 7th of September – 29th of January **** + highly likely ongoing contract About the Role A fantastic opportunity is currently available for an experienced WHS E Advisor, to provide WHS advice, support and guidance across a large building, construction and maintenance environment.
Working closely with the Principal Workplace Health and Safety Advisors and the WHS Manager to implement and monitor operational Workplace Heath Safety and environmental (WHS E) matters across the department.
You will partner with both field and office-based stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct workplace health, safety and environmental audits and inspections across operational sites.
Provide WHS advice and guidance to operational, supervisory and management staff.
Support compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and organisational safety management systems.
Assist with incident reporting, investigations and contractor notifiable incident processes.
Contribute to the development and delivery of WHS training, information sessions and awareness initiatives.
Assist with rehabilitation and return-to-work activities under senior guidance.
Support emergency planning and response activities across offices and depots.
Assist with the development, review and implementation of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments and WHS management plans.
Prepare regular WHS reporting and assist with the delivery of health and safety programs.
Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Experience in workplace health and safety within construction, maintenance, infrastructure, facilities, trades or a similar industry.
Certificate IV in WHS is highly desirable Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations and safety reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively and provide practical safety advice in operational environments.
Ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and relevant standards.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build robust relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
