About the Opportunity
n
A Full-Time position is available for a Registered Mental Health Nurse at Fulham Correctional Centre. Part-Time opportunities may be available upon discussion.
n
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the primary objective of the Registered Mental Health Nurse is to enhance suicide prevention programs and strategies at the Fulham Correctional Centre.
n
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
n
n
Define and maintain the standard of nursing practice within the Correctional Centre
n
Develop mental health nursing care plans for prisoners with a P rating
n
Coordinate and undertake physical and mental health assessments on all new receptions entering the Correctional Centre
n
Develop and implement suicide / self-harm strategies and regularly assess their effectiveness
n
n
Salary on offer:

Skills & Experience
n
To succeed in the role, you will possess the following:
n
n




Completed Psychiatric Registered Nurse training
n
Current AHPRA registration
n
Professional post graduate experience as a Psychiatric Nurse
n
Competence in the performance of medical emergency, physical assessment, crisis intervention, medical & psychiatric nursing care and venipuncture preferable
n
Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing psychiatric evaluations
n
Providing appropriate follow through treatment
n
