The Role
n
Join Nine Mile's market making team as a Trader, based in Sydney, focused on options across APAC. We're expanding into options market making, with a mandate to build out across a range of products and asset classes over time. You'll develop and execute market making strategies and manage risk across listed options.
n
This is an early role in a growing part of our business, so you'll have genuine ownership over how the book is traded and where it goes next, working alongside a small, technical team from strong trading backgrounds.

Key responsibilities include:
n

Developing and executing options market making strategies across APAC, with scope to grow across a range of products and asset classes over time
n
Pricing options and managing the book across the greeks, volatility surface, skew, and term structure
n
Dynamically hedging options risk using underlying equities, futures, and ETFs
n
Identifying and exploiting relative value and arbitrage opportunities across options, their underlyings, ETFs, and related derivative instruments
n




Researching and developing new systematic trading opportunities within options markets
n
Working closely with technology to design and improve pricing models, quoting engines, and execution tools tailored to options market microstructure
n
Collaborating closely with the broader market-making team
n
Proactively engaging with regulators, exchanges, issuers, and brokers across APAC options and derivatives markets
n
n
What you Will Bring
n
n
5+ years of options trading or market making experience at a High-Frequency Trading or Market Making firm, ideally in listed or exchange traded options
n
Deep understanding of options pricing and risk, including volatility surfaces, the greeks, skew, and term structure
n
Hands-on experience running and managing an options book, including dynamic hedging
n
A track record of developing and owning trading strategies, with the appetite to help grow a current area of the business
n
Strong grasp of options and derivatives market microstructure
n
Familiarity with ETFs or the wider APAC derivatives landscape is a plus
n
Proficiency in Python
n
Highly advanced capability in probability, statistics, and stochastic processes
n
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
n
A genuine passion for financial markets, particularly systematic and quantitative options trading
n
Strong academic record in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
n
