Job Description
Our client is seeking a Junior Database Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. This is an excellent chance for someone with 1-3 years of Oracle database experience who is looking to develop their skills working with Oracle, Exadata, RAC and Grid Infrastructure.

This is a full-time hybrid position with *****% office attendance and the remainder working from home, offering flexibility while working alongside an experienced database team.

About the Role
n
As a Junior Database Engineer, you will support the administration, monitoring and maintenance of Oracle database environments and Exadata platforms. Working closely with senior Database Administrators, you will gain hands-on experience across database operations, patching, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities
n
Perform routine Oracle database administration, monitoring and health checks.
n
Support database backups, recovery and RMAN activities.
n
Assist with Oracle and Exadata patching, including quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPUs).
n
Support Oracle Grid Infrastructure and RAC environments.
n
Monitor database performance and assist with troubleshooting.
n
Participate in disaster recovery testing and backup validation.
n
Document operational procedures and technical runbooks.
n
Manage incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.
n
Assist with database upgrades, migrations and ongoing maintenance.
n
Follow security,



change management and compliance requirements.
n
Participate in an on-call roster when required.
n
About You
n
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
n
1-3 years' experience supporting Oracle database environments.
n
Good understanding of Oracle Database architecture.
n
Knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery.
n
Basic Linux/Unix administration skills.
n
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
n
Willingness to learn and develop within a collaborative team.
n
Desirable Skills
n
Exposure to Oracle Exadata.
n
Oracle Grid Infrastructure or RAC experience.
n
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM Cloud Control).
n
Data Guard, ASM and Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB).
n
Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or working towards Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
