Overview
Trinity Consultants Australia is seeking an air monitoring technician to join our team of environmental consultants.
Details
Trinity Consultants Australia provides scientific monitoring and assessment services in the fields of acoustics and air quality. Our services specifically include stack emission testing for regulatory compliance, engineering studies, pilot plant trials, relative accuracy testing (RATAs), trial runs and ambient air monitoring.
The position is located at our Wakerley office in Brisbane. We are part of the global professional services provider Trinity Consultants, delivering engineering and scientific advice to the building, mining, industrial, manufacturing, ports and transport sectors.
The successful candidate will work with our talented staff to continue serving existing clients and help with new project opportunities. This position requires field work up to 70% of the time. It may require some weekend work and extended travel.
Candidates
Our successful candidate will have:
Unrestricted work rights in Australia
1 plus years environmental monitoring experience preferred
Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team in the field
Be able to lift and carry a 20 kg load, climb ladders, and be comfortable working at heights
Proficient in use of computer program applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and emails
Good written and oral communication skills
Strong work ethic with the ability to work in an outdoor environment
Essentially strong practical skills and good manual dexterity with hand tools
Ability to maintain objectivity to correct/address issues that may arise during stack testing
Concern for quality of service
Ability to work in an outdoor environment
The Role
Successfully complete all required health and safety training such as Safe Work at Heights and Elevated Work Platform Operator.
Work under instructions of Project Manager to set up equipment and collect air emissions samples at industrial locations that may include working at heights.
Assist with operating ambient air monitoring equipment as well as laboratory equipment.
Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration and repair and arrange for sample analysis.
Perform entry of data and results into spreadsheets and sampling reports.
Comply with company policies and procedures including quality assurance and safety procedures, and prepare timesheets and expenses claims on a daily basis.
Travel to sites as required. Up to 25% of projects may involve some away-from-home stays (typically less than 4 nights away per month).
Provide assistance and undertake tasks as requested by direct supervisor and senior managers.
Foster good relationships with Clients and meet or exceed their expectations as appropriate.
Behave in a skilled manner and embrace and apply the Trinity Consultants Australia values.
Maintain and develop knowledge of current and emerging air monitoring technologies.
Support with development of systems and procedures.
Use of company vehicles, travel allowance and/or reimbursement of expenses
