Job Description
As Assistant Director, you will supervise, coordinate and manage relationships between key stakeholders through high-profile partnerships with Australian and Pacific sporting bodies.

Key Duties
n
n
Leading development of next-phase partnerships with major National Sporting Organisations in Australia and partners such as Rugby Australia.
n
Developing and managing stakeholder relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
n
Representing client and supporting delivery of partnership events, including driving media campaigns and social media product development as needed, which may support short-notice Ministerial needs.
n
Preparing briefings and more complex reporting relevant to the partnerships managed, including submissions,
ministerial/departmental
correspondence, and corporate reporting as required.
n
Supporting senior staff in setting strategic direction, managing competing priorities and developing appropriate team plans in line with the goals and objectives of OTP.
n
Establishing and supporting effective contract management processes, monitoring and tracking milestones and budgets.
n
Driving the development and implementation of a Pacific Sports Strategy.
n
Supporting Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning workplan to ensure program effectiveness.
n
Supporting Implementing Services Provider contract management and secretariat support for governance mechanisms.
n
Supporting the administrative and logistical requirements of the work unit.
n
Promoting a positive team culture where staff work collegiately with a shared sense of purpose and build capability within the team by coaching others and providing feedback.

Our ideal candidate
n
n
a foundational level knowledge in the sport sector and Pacific development program management
n
demonstrated understanding of the department's public diplomacy priorities in the Pacific
n
strong stakeholder relationship management techniques, processes and practices
n
experience implementing high performance and high-profile Australian government initiatives, though client's experience preferred
n
experience with and understanding of Australian government procurement, contract and risk management processes, experience with client's processes is valued
n
the ability to make decisions and recommendations using qualified judgement and expertise in a complex environment, governed by the application of policies and best-practice principles
n
strong written and verbal communication skills
n
capacity to prioritise managing tasks, operating under broad directions, exercising independence, and escalating issues that may have an impact on the work area
n
the ability to contribute positively to a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusivity
n
experience using program and financial management systems, prior experience using AidWorks is preferred
n
n
Eligibility
n
Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance. Existing NV1, NV2 or higher security clearances will be highly regarded.
