Metal Fabricator / Welder (Stainless Steel)

ACT Stainless Steel has progressed to become the largest manufacturer of specialized stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium & brass products in the Canberra area, through expert design, coordination & quality of workmanship, endearing itself to both local & interstate builders, architects, clubs & foodservice consultants as a result. We are looking for experienced stainless steel fabricators or welders to expand our skilled workforce, to fill full time, permanent positions.

The Position

n

The Metal Fabricator or Welder will perform the following duties

n

study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements

n

select metal stock, such as stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and mild steel.

n

cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools,



plasma cutting torches and metal cutting machines such as guillotines

n

shaping and forming cut metal stock into products using brake presses, folders, rollers

n

assemble and weld components together using TIG welding

n

polish and buff finished products to the required surface finish

n

install commercial kitchen equipment and other products of the company

n

Skills and Experience

n

The successful applicants will have the following

n

AQF Certificate III Fabrication Trade or equivalent or relevant experience

n

Specialised experience in TIG welding and polishing of stainless steel, aluminium, brass and specialty alloys an advantage

n

experience in the fabrication of commercial kitchen equipment is an advantage
